Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 May 2026
1. The agreement
These terms govern your use of The Dog Watch (the “Service”), operated by Christchurch Web Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England & Wales under company number 10977032 with its registered office at Unit 6, 6 Silver Business Park, Airfield Way, Christchurch, BH23 3TA. By signing up or using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree not to create multiple accounts for the purpose of trading with yourself, sabotaging another captain’s game, or otherwise circumventing the fair-play expectations of the Service.
3. Conduct
When you communicate with other captains — in letters, port chat, house chat, or anywhere else — you must not post content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing of any third party’s rights. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these expectations.
4. The game world
The Service is a persistent multiplayer game. Other captains can read, trade with, send letters to, and (where rules permit) attack your in-game possessions. We do not guarantee any in-game outcome, balance of power, or continued availability of any feature, ship, good, or in-game currency (“reales”). Reales have no real-world cash value and cannot be redeemed for money.
We may at any time adjust game balance, reset elements of the world, or end the Service entirely. We will make a reasonable effort to give notice before any wide-scale reset.
5. Our content
The Service’s source code, design, visuals and text are owned by Christchurch Web Solutions Ltd or our licensors. You may not copy, redistribute or commercialise them without written permission.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of anything you post (captain names, letters, messages). You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and route that content within the Service so it can be shown to other captains.
7. Availability and warranty
The Service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular feature will continue to work. To the extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to £100.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we cease operating the Service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when. Material changes will be announced on the Service’s landing page.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
12. Contact
Questions, complaints or notices should be sent to mark@christchurchwebsolutions.co.uk or to the registered office address above.
